Based on the investigation of a fire which breaks out in a nightclub, this TV series gives a vivid and shocking description of the disaster which is caused by some officials’ corruptions and dereliction of duty.

  This fire, directly caused by two workers’ negligent operation, swallows the lives of more than 150 people. The investigation of the fire leads Ye Ziqing, the chief-prosecutor, to the fact that the workers are not guilty and the fire and the fire losses are truly caused by some government official’ corruption and dereliction of duty. Her attempt to prosecute the officials (more than 40 in number) brings about a series of interferences with her job and even death to herself.
